What did we learn about the KC Chiefs?

The Chiefs, once again, played on a Monday and it’s beginning to feel like second nature for this team honestly. They’re 3-0 in their Monday games this season and at this point, Chiefs fans would probably be fine with every single game being played on a Monday.

It was important for Kansas City to rebound after their sloppy loss to the Raiders in Week 5 and they did so beautifully in their 26-17 victory over the Bills. The score made it look closer than it really was, as the Chiefs, despite being up 13-10 at one point, just looked like the better team. They were doing whatever they wanted to offensively in this game and it showed. Buffalo just looked beat on defense.

The run game took over for the Chiefs, totaling 46 carries for 245 yards and a touchdown, which was the most the Chiefs had rushed for since Dec. 25, 2016 when they hosted the Broncos in that rainy Christmas night match-up. Clyde Edwards-Helaire was the star on Monday, as he had 26 carries for 161 yards and should have had a touchdown (it was wiped out due to a penalty). The rookie barreled through the Bills defensive front play after play and it was awesome to watch.

What we learned about the Chiefs in Week 6 is that they can be a running team and that should terrify the other 31 teams in the NFL, especially with Le’Veon Bell joining them this week. Edwards-Helaire had been fine, but not super effective in Weeks 2-5, but he had a career game on Monday and showed he can be the workhorse on this team when they need him to be.

Next up: The Chiefs hit the road again, this time heading to Denver for a game in the late afternoon window. They’re going for 10 straight wins against the Broncos.
