Potential Departures for Next Season

What Will Next Season’s Roster Look Like?

The next Jayhawk squad should be loaded next year especially if all who should stay do. I do not see Devonte’ Graham leaving at all. He has been built up for a starting point guard role since Frank Mason started his phenomenal career.

I do not see Svi leaving either. He is just way too young of a prospect for NBA teams, and because of his age he should be concerned of being a low round pick or not getting picked at all. His age will definitely be a factor when it comes to being drafted.

Josh Jackson is as good as gone. He is potentially a number one overall pick and should be a dominant force in the NBA. He had a well respected season and gave the Jayhawk faithful all he could give for his one season.

So, what will the roster look like next season?

It will be as athletic if not more athletic than the last with added firepower underneath the rim. Udoka Azubuike and Dwight Coleby will hold down a muscular frontcourt and Svi Mykhailiuk, Devonte’ Graham, and Billy Preston should hold down the athletic backcourt.

Next season’s team is starting to look scary good especially if Bill Self adds some more recruits. Yes, Carlton Bragg Jr. is going to transfer, but after the season he had in 2016-2017, it really shouldn’t hurt the Jayhawks all that much, if at all.

The Jayhawks should again be favorites to win it all next year, and it is almost certain that they will earn a 14 consecutive Big 12 regular season title. The talent Bill Self has coming in also sets up KU Basketball for a great future.
