Last week I suggested improvements were needed with the wide receivers, players getting penalized too much, not creating turnovers, and the field goal unit. The wide receivers had probably their most impressive game of the season and wait for it… Dwayne Bowe ALMOST had a touchdown reception! So a wide receiver still hasn’t caught a touchdown all year.

Albert Wilson had a big day with five receptions for 87 yards. Bowe had more receptions (six), but had 57 yards on the day. For the first time in awhile, two wide receivers actually led the Chiefs in receiving yards on the day. How about that?

Penalties were definitely not as big of an issue for Kansas City this week, as they only had four. Pittsburgh also had four.

Not creating turnovers is still a HUGE problem for this Kansas City Chiefs team. They’re losing the turnover battle each week and that honestly is what ends up losing them the game.

The field goal unit was fine this week. I’m not sure what was going on with Cairo Santos last week, but this week he booted through all four field goals. He really should have had a fifth field goal on the day, but Andy Reid and company elected to go for it on fourth down in the second quarter, which was stupid, but oh well.
