Kansas City Chiefs: What to Improve On For Week 17

Hey, they had a good week last week, right? Yeah, I don’t care, that’s not an excuse.

I feel really bad for Alex Smith week after week. He gets drilled on nearly every play yet people are griping that he doesn’t throw the ball downfield ever. HE NEVER HAS THE TIME PEOPLE.

Smith was sacked six times in this game. SIX TIMES. The absolute biggest need for this team in the offseason whether it be in the draft or in free agency is one or two offensive linemen. This current Kansas City Chiefs o-line is atrocious and every week makes me want to jab a pen into my eye.

Until this team has a decent offensive line, Alex Smith isn’t going to look like an elite quarterback (not saying that he would be considered one regardless so let’s not get into that please). He needs time to make plays and the line isn’t giving him that. Smith can’t be running around on every play because that’s how quarterbacks get hurt.
