Today’s KC Royals news focuses on their latest three game sweep of the Minnesota Twins and their upcoming four game series against the Houston Astros.

On Sunday, Trevor May‘s 10th inning wild pitch clinched the KC Royals fourth win and first sweep of the season.

Sunday’s 4-3 victory ended a rough weekend for the Minnesota Twins who fell to 0-6 at the hands of the KC Royals.

The KC Royals started off their series against the Twins on Friday after the New York Mets handed them their first loss of the season three days prior.

Omar Infante‘s sacrifice fly in the eighth inning sealed the KC Royals 4-3 victory on Friday.

The next day, the KC Royals won in a much more dominant showing.

The KC Royals held the Twins to no runs thanks to Ian Kennedy‘s six and two thirds scoreless innings.

In addition to Kennedy’s standout performance, Mike Moustakas and Lorenzo Cain hit back to back home runs in the fourth inning of the KC Royals 7-0 shutout of the Twins.

Yesterday, in the last game of the series, the KC Royals went into extra innings with the Twins who looked to avoid the embarrassment of being a win-less Major League Baseball team.

Unfortunately for the Twins, desperation for their first win was not enough to pull ahead of the KC Royals.

Terrance Gore scored the sweep clinching run after Twins pitcher Trevor May threw a wild pitch in the bottom of the 10th inning.
