People might think I’m jumping the gun here, but Justin Herbert is becoming must see television and he’s going to be a thorn in the Chiefs’ side for a looooong time. Herbert has shown he can throw the ball accurately and make big plays with his legs as well. He and Mahomes are going to be duking it out for the next decade.

Herbert didn’t start until Week 2, but you’d never know with his numbers. He’s thrown for 2,146 yards, 17 touchdowns, and five interceptions in his first seven games as an NFL quarterback. He’s also added 166 rushing yards and two touchdowns to his rookie resumé.

The main knock on Herbert isn’t really his fault because he was drafted by an organization who is prone to losing in the most heartbreaking ways. As a result, Herbert only has one win to his name because his team continues to choke time and time again.

One win or five wins, Herbert is the quarterback who can most challenge Mahomes in the coming years. That makes him the second best signal caller in the AFC West.

Best game – Week 7 vs Jaguars (27 of 43, 347 yards, 3 TD)

Worst game – Week 8 vs Broncos (29 of 43, 278 yards, 3 TD, 2 INT)
