The Kansas City Chiefs have the best quarterback in the AFC West, but where do the others rank?

When it comes to who the best quarterback is in the AFC West, there’s no debate that it’s Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs. Fans of the Broncos, Chargers, and Raiders would admit that as well because it’s not even a contest.

As for the rest of the division though, there’s certainly some debate to be had. Since we’re at the halfway point of the season (and the Chiefs’ bye week), I decided to rank the AFC West signal callers from best to worse. I’ll list every player’s best game and worst game so far this season.

We’ll go ahead and start with Mahomes since he’s the unquestioned No. 1.

Quarterback. Kansas City Chiefs. Patrick Mahomes. 1. player. 124.

Wow! Shocking! Nah. We all knew this was the case.

While Mahomes has had some “meh” games this season, the Chiefs have still won those games. Even Mahomes’ worst day is a day that most quarterbacks would love to have. He’s thrown for 2,687 yards, 25 touchdowns, and just one interception through nine games.

It’s odd that Mahomes hasn’t been getting a ton of love this year. He hasn’t put up those crazy games that he did in 2018 when he was the talk of the town, but his team is better now so he doesn’t have to. Even with him not being a key talking point in the league, Mahomes is the frontrunner to win MVP, which would be his second in three years if he did indeed win it.

There’s not much else to say here. Fans of the other three AFC West teams would agree that Mahomes deserves this spot.

Best game – Week 8 vs Jets (31 of 42, 416 yards, 5 TD)

Worst game – Week 7 vs Broncos (15 of 23, 200 yards, TD)
