Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson are the two biggest stars in the NFL, but Jackson does not deserve a contract to that of what Mahomes received. No way.

Is Jackson a phenomenal talent?

Absolutely.

Is he the future of his franchise and of this league?

No question.

Unfortunately for Jackson, his talents come around once in a while. Mahomes’ talents come around once in a generation and I’m not sure they have ever come around before.

More from Patrick Mahomes

Jackson is a great talent, and he will have a stunning career and will bring that Super Bowl victory to the Ravens and possibly even more than one. It is not Jackson’s fault that he is up against one of the greatest and what could end up being the greatest football player of all time in Patrick Mahomes.

While Jackson has achieved much in his two years in the league, there are still areas of improvement with his technique. He has to get over the playoff hump that plagued the KC Chiefs for so many years. If he wants Mahomes money, he absolutely must get that ring.

Mahomes landed the contract he did because he led the Kansas City Chiefs to back-to-back AFC Championship Games and won them a Super Bowl this past season. Jackson has yet to win a playoff game.

Does Jackson deserve a lucrative contract that will make him a very wealthy man and keep him in Baltimore for the next few year?

Absolutely he does and I hope he gets it.

If we are talking Patrick Mahomes money and the security that he very well might spend his entire career with one team, however, he has not earned that quite yet.

Next. Team Name is Fine, but Time to Move on From Traditions. dark

All of this being said, the sky is the limit for Lamar Jackson and I wish him the absolute best and look forward to watching his career unfold.
