LESEAN MCCOY

When the Chiefs brought LeSean McCoy in prior to the 2019 season kicking off, it seemed like a genius move by Brett Veach and Andy Reid. McCoy had ties to Reid while the two were in Philadelphia together and even at 31 years old, many thought Shady had plenty left in the tank to help get this team back to the AFC title game.

Instead – McCoy barely saw the field for the last two months of the season. He was inactive for both the AFC Championship Game and for the Super Bowl yet before the playoffs, fans were told he was being rested for those games.

While the idea of bringing LeSean McCoy in seemed to be a good one at the time, it didn’t work out and he’s an easy option to let walk away this spring.

DEMARCUS ROBINSON

This might be the toughest name to see on the list, but another team is going to pay Demarcus Robinson WR2 money and he hasn’t been that type of player in Kansas City. Through four years with the Chiefs, Robinson has tallied under 1,000 yards receiving and eight touchdowns; Not exactly big contract worthy.

I wrote about why the Chiefs should let Robinson walk and said in that post that a team is going to pull an Albert Wilson and pay him big money simply because he caught passes from Patrick Mahomes. The Chiefs can’t be smitten with Robinson because he was with them for their Super Bowl win.

The guy simply dropped too many easy catches and doesn’t deserve big money from the Chiefs; Let someone else make that mistake. Kansas City must be logical here and the smart decision regarding Demarcus Robinson is to let the guy sign somewhere else for big time buckaroos.

While it’s not easy to let players walk away in free agency, sometimes it’s necessary and these are six players who the Chiefs need to let do their own thing come March.

What do you think Chiefs Kingdom? Who do you think the team should part ways with next month?
