WHAT DID WE LEARN ABOUT THE CHIEFS?

Last, but certainly not least, we come to our very own Kansas City Chiefs, who are 1-0 on the season. The Chiefs sit atop the AFC West along with the Chargers and Raiders and they looked heads and shoulders above the rest of the division in the season opener, putting up 40 points on a good defense in Jacksonville.

The problem with the Chiefs is their defense hasn’t improved much. Sure, it’s only been one week and Morris Claiborne is suspended for three more weeks, but the pass rush was an issue too. They were only able to record one sack against a subpar Jags offensive line.

At the end of the day though, the Chiefs won 40-26 against a potential playoff team and the offense looked unstoppable even with Tyreek Hill out for almost all of the game due to injury. Sammy Watkins had nearly 200 receiving yards and found the end zone three times.

Patrick Mahomes picked right up where he left off, throwing for 300 yards in the first half alone. He finished the day with 378 yards and three touchdowns. He did get banged up a bit, but still looked like a rockstar.

The run game showed improvements with LeSean McCoy rushing for 81 yards and looking like the Shady McCoy of old. If the run game can get going, it’ll definitely add another level to this offense.

Even though the defense needs to improve, the Chiefs look like they’ll be tough to stop on offense.
