RANKING EVERY MAHOMES START IN 2018

NUMBER 18 – WEEK 5 VS JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS

As I mentioned on the opening slide, Patrick Mahomes didn’t have any bad games. But, whenever we rank things in life, something has to be last, and the game against Jacksonville in week five was the “worst” of Mahomes’ starts in 2018.

The Chiefs won that game in blowout fashion, but it was more as a result of Blake Bortles struggling for the Jags that gave the Chiefs that win. Their defense took advantage of a poor Jags offense and therefore, Mahomes and the offense didn’t have to carry the team.

Mahomes completed 22 passes out of 38 attempts for 313 yards and two interceptions. He didn’t have a passing touchdown that week, a rarity for the MVP quarterback, but he did rush for one.

Had this been a tighter game, Mahomes surely would have thrown for more yards and at least a touchdown, but it’s okay that the defense capitalized on Bortles’ four interceptions.

This wasn’t a bad performance from Mahomes, but again… Something had to sit in last place and this drew the short straw.
