The most recent display of this WIMM defense was on Justin Houston‘s brilliant interception early in the fourth quarter last Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals.

In what seemed like a game that was getting away from the Chiefs, Houston’s WIMM play completely changed the momentum and set up the final touches of a Chiefs 12 point win.

This all leads me to the fact that we shouldn’t get crazy discouraged when the Rams are able to get theirs offensively in this next game. Head Coach Sean McVay inherited some excellent young talent and he’s done wonders for the development of Jared Goff and Todd Gurley. His play calling is exceptional in that he mixes in a solid blend of run, play action pass, screens and jet sweeps that keep defenses on their heels.

Using what he has at his disposal, McVay literally took the worst scoring offense of 2016 to THE best scoring offense of 2017.

Point is, these guys are good. They’re going to score points, they’re going to gain yards and they’re going to frustrate the hell out us, but that’s okay.

The Rams climbed out of a 21 point deficit in New Orleans two weeks ago in what seemed like the blink of an eye. The Chiefs just need to find a way for their defense to make some plays like the Saints did that day and like they’ve done all season long.

If the game ends with a score of something like 38-31 and the Chiefs gave up a ton of yards, but still won, I honestly don’t believe there will be a reason to panic or get discouraged. The elite offenses are going to score in this league and that is just a fact. I feel like the Chiefs have shown enough signs that they can be a part of something special as we enter the final quarter of the season.

Just get it done when it matters most.
