Kansas City Chiefs: Free Agency Preview

Offense: Backs, Ends, and Receivers

There is a lot to like about the weapons on the Kansas City Chiefs roster. The Chiefs offense doesn’t lack for playmakers, but you can always use more. With a quarterback like Patrick Mahomes, you can also be sure that they will find a way to get everyone involved in the offense. That opens a lot of doors in free agency.

  1. Jarvis Landry – WR – Dolphins: Landry was my top trade target this season, but it never happened. He won’t come cheap, but Landry is the type of receiver that can be dangerous at every level of the field. Lining him up opposite of Tyreek Hill just wouldn’t be fair to opposing defenses.
  2. Cameron Brate – TE – Buccaneers: Criminally underused by the Bucs, Brate is a redzone nightmare for opposing defenses. He’s a solid receiving target and a decent blocker. He can line up all over the field, which will give defenses fits.
  3. Willie Snead – WR – Saints (RFA): There is a fair chance the Saints won’t tender Willie Snead. Even if they do, they may be open to a trade, or even just cut him in camp. It was a rough year for Snead who started his career hot. This could end up being a cheap investment on a player with excellent potential.

There are plenty of other options for Kansas City in this market, and you can bet that will be covered ad nauseam in the future. For our purposes though, this should give Chiefs Kingdom a decent idea of what is out there. KC has some young talent already on the roster, but the ability to add another difference maker is certainly there too.
