Predrag Radosavljevic – Wiz: “Preki”
Nearly every single person reading this article just said to themselves: “I had no idea that wasn’t his real name”. The Kansas City Wizards, and international soccer, star was known for nearly his entire career as “Preki”. In fact, it was even printed on his uniforms. That’s how well-known he was by that nickname.
Preki was one of the original stars of Major League Soccer. During his time in the American leagues, he spent almost a decade playing for Kansas City. To this day he remains the only two-time MLS MVP.
The Serbian-born star wasn’t just limited to the US though. He also played several seasons in the British Premier League with Everton and two seasons with Portsmouth FC in League One. However, his roots were firmly planted in the MLS, and he was one of the first stars of American soccer.
