MATT STRAHM

After a few rough outings to start the season, Matt Strahm might be back to 2016 form. Sure, he still has an ugly ERA of 9.82 (as of May 4th), but it’s sure better than his 108.00 ERA he had after his first appearance last month.

Strahm has whittled that ERA down to 9.82 and it’s come from dominating hitters in his last five appearances since being called back up to the big leagues. Strahm pitched two innings of relief last night and gave up a one-run home run, but the Royals still won 6-1.

Strahm had a rough go of it to begin the year, but apparently sending him to Omaha for a week did the trick. He looks like he might be ready to jump in as that seventh inning guy for the duration of the season.

If the three-punch of Strahm, Joakim Soria, and Kelvin Herrera can actually get a lead handed to them, we could be seeing the second coming of the H-D-H trio from the 2014 and 2015 seasons.
