Game 4 of the World Series was huge for the Kansas City Royals.

Down 3-2 in the eighth inning, it seemed hopeless for the Royals to take a 3-1 series lead and looked all too likely that the New York Mets were going to even up the series.

After Tyler Clippard allowed two walks to Zobrist and Cain with one out, Eric Hosmer hit a chopper off Jeurys Familia that Daniel Murphy misplayed. That error allowed Zobrist to score the game tying run.

Moustakas kept the line moving by singling home Cain, giving the Royals their first lead of the game. Perez added to the lead with a single that scored Hosmer.

The Royals were up 5-3 in Game 4, and later watched Wade Davis earn the save in a HUGE win for the Kansas City Royals.

Keeping the line moving has been the Royals’ strategy all postseason long, and it’s been incredibly effective. Jeff Passan’s article linked on the first slide is definitely worth a read, as it pertains to this particular strategy of Kansas City’s that has gotten them this far into the season.

"Perhaps it’s this: When the bases are empty and pitchers are less inclined to nibble, swing hard at pitches in the strike zone and try to thump one. And with runners on base, go into protect mode, put the ball in play and allow the Royals’ superior speed, athleticism and hand-eye coordination to win the day. –  Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports"
