The Chiefs have three elite players, which is more than the NFL average of two.

Outside Linebacker Justin Houston – After leading the NFL in sacks in 2014 with 22, and only falling a half sack short of the all time NFL record, it is no surprise to see Houston ranked as one of the elite players on the Chiefs roster.

Cornerback Sean Smith – Smith finished with the third highest coverage grade among corners that played at least 1,000 snaps. Smith’s most impressive stat may be that he was never called for a penalty which is very rare in the NFL today. Smith’s great season went mostly under the radar, but he definitely deserves to be in the elite category.
Fullback Anthony Sherman – Sherman continues to be one of the best Fullback’s in the NFL, and finished the 2014 season with the best run blocking grade among all Fullback’s. Sherman deserves his place in the elite category.
Good
The Chiefs have two good players, which is less than the NFL average of 4.3.
Tight End Travis Kelce – After a knee injury forced Kelce to miss his entire 2013 rookie season, he bounced back in a big way in 2014, leading the Chiefs in receiving with 67 receptions and 862 yards. Kelce belongs in the good category, but has a very real chance to be elite.
Center Rodney Hudson – Hudson was the only reliable piece to the puzzle that was the Chiefs offensive line. Allowing only eleven pressures all season, he belongs in the good category, but being only 25 years-old, Hudson like Kelce has a good chance to be elite.
