KC Royals news surrounds the return of Mike Moustakas from injury and Cheslor Cuthbert’s subsequent demotion to the minor leagues.

KC Royals news at third base took an interesting turn recently.

Ever since Mike Moustakas sustained a thumb injury on May 5th, Cheslor Cuthbert has performed admirably at third base.

In 13 games, Cuthbert has accumulated a .255 batting average.

If Cuthbert met the minimum game requirements, this average would be good enough for top 50 in the American League.

Unfortunately for Cuthbert, the KC Royals made the difficult decision to send him down following the return of Moustakas.

The KC Royals deciding to send down Cuthbert, although painful, may have been a necessity.

Injuries to Kris Medlen and Chris Young have stretched their pitching depth pretty thin.

As a result, it is likely that the KC Royals concluded that Cuthbert’s bat was not as valuable to the team as the extra arms in their bullpen right now.

Regardless, KC Royals fans will be delighted by Moustakas’ return.

In addition, the KC Royals back-to-back wins against the Chicago White Sox are quite promising.

The AL Central could be the midst of a shakeup after this series.
