KC Chiefs: 2014 Has Been A Roller Coaster Ride

facebooktwitterreddit

The 2014 season has been a weird one for the KC Chiefs, who started the season terribly at home against the Tennessee Titans. The Chiefs dropped to 0-2 at the start of the season and fans began to lose hope in this team early on.

The season then began its first up of the season, as Kansas City defeated the Miami Dolphins in week 3 and then went on to blow out the New England Patriots in week 4 on Monday Night Football.

That Monday Night Football game rejuvenated the Kansas City Chiefs and their fans, who set the world record for loudest outdoor stadium that night. Chiefs fans were already hyped up about the Kansas City Royals being in the playoffs, but the Chiefs added to the excitement in Kansas City at that time.

After that huge victory against the Patriots, the Chiefs fell flat against the 49ers in a game they honestly should have won. A week 6 bye was much needed for our Chiefs to get back on track and tackle their next batch of opponents.

Well the Kansas City Chiefs did that and then some. The Chiefs went on to win five games in a row, those being against the Chargers, Rams, Jets, Bills, and Seahawks. The Bills and Seahawks games were the most impressive victories because both teams have great defenses and the Chiefs were able to put enough points up to win.

Fans were pumped up after those two wins in particular, but then things went south for the KC Chiefs. They lost three straight games, one of those being to the (at the time) winless Oakland Raiders on Thursday Night Football. That loss was embarrassing, but then came losses to the Broncos on Sunday Night Football at Arrowhead Stadium and a heartbreaker to Arizona.

The Chiefs really should have won that game against Arizona, but a BS call against Travis Kelce “fumbling the football” took the ball away from the Chiefs, who were more than likely going to score on the drive.

After those three devastating losses, the KC Chiefs looked to be slowly falling out of the playoff race. Kansas City took care of business against Oakland when the two met at Arrowhead in week 15, but now have to defeat the Pittsburgh Steelers and San Diego Chargers in order to make it into the postseason.

It’s not going to be an easy task, but this season has been a roller coaster for the KC Chiefs and really anything can happen for this team. Let’s hope that Kansas City can pull off victories to close out the 2014 season and punch their ticket into the playoffs!
