KC Chiefs Mock Draft 2.0

Round 7: Pick 217 – Wyatt Hubert, EDGE (Kansas State)

player. 823. . EDGE. Wildcats . Wyatt Hubert. 217

With their final pick in the 2021 NFL Mock Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs add a local EDGE rusher in Wyatt Hubert, who played his college ball at Kansas State. Hubert had a dominating senior season in Manhattan, racking up 27 tackles (13 for loss), 8.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles.

It was surprising to me to see Hubert available this late in the draft, but I’m also biased considering I try to watch every K-State game each season. Hubert is also undersized at 6’3″ and 265 pounds, which is a big knock on him as well.

Hubert is great at getting after the quarterback though, which is evidenced by his 8.5 sacks as a senior. He was the bright spot on K-State’s defense and could be a really good value pick for the Chiefs. Being a local guy would make this a really fun selection.

Well, there you have it. My latest mock draft has the Chiefs landing their starting left tackle of the future as well as addressing other positions of need. One of my favorite picks in this draft was Jack Anderson, who was available in the fifth round and could give KC their next starting right guard after LDT’s contract expires or the team moves on.
