Kansas City Chiefs Free Agent Targets – Reuben Foster, LB

This is the shot in the dark, finding value type idea. Despite being drafted in 2017, Reuben Foster has only appeared in 16 career games and none since 2018. After legal issues that led to his departure from San Francisco after the 2018 season, he was claimed by Washington. However, due to a serious knee injury suffered in May of 2018, he has not yet played for Washington.

The Chiefs could be a place, assuming the background and health check out, to take a chance on a player that previously had a lot of talent, at a position they could use help at. Foster would likely come in on a veteran minimum type contract, and if the Chiefs are able to get any level of production, it could pay off for both sides.

I am curious what his health looks like, missing two seasons due to a knee injury is very concerning. However, if he is close to the player he was, he could be an incredible find in free agency for the Chiefs in need of a bargain or two.
