Pending Free Agents for KC Chiefs to Re-sign: Daniel Kilgore (Center)

Both players that have started at center for the Chiefs this season — Daniel Kilgore and Austin Reiter — are set to be free agents after this season. While the Chiefs are unlikely able to afford to keep Reiter, the Chiefs could be capable of bringing back Kilgore.

With youngster Nick Allegretti, who played center in college, the Chiefs would have two players with center experience and the versatility to contribute along the offensive interior. Kilgore impressed in limited action this season and as we’ve seen showcased, injuries are common on the offensive line, so re-signing Kilgore as a depth piece would be a smart move by Brett Veach this spring.

Pending Free Agents for KC Chiefs to Re-sign: Tanoh Kpassagnon (D-Line)

Tanoh Kpassagnon has the distinction of being the other player on the roster from the Chiefs 2017 draft class. While he certainly has not lived up billing as a second-round selection, in the new defense, what he does offer is versatility and depth at multiple spots along the defensive line.

With defensive end Alex Okafor set to be a free agent this offseason as well as Mike Pennel, Kpassagnon has the opportunity to get snaps both on edge and interior of the defensive line. He and Mike Danna will likely help to replace Okafor on the edge and with Pennel leaving, Kpassagnon can help along the interior, especially in passing situations.
