Run game is back! (Well… hopefully)

After three straight games with the run game being basically non-existent, they showed up today in a big way! Clyde Edwards-Helaire had 14 carries for 69 yards and two rushing touchdowns (the first multi-rushing touchdown game of his career) while Le’Veon Bell found the end zone for the first time as a Chief.

While I’m not going to assume this is the rushing attack we’ll see for the duration of the season, it was nice to see Andy Reid and Eric Bieniemy stick with the run game and not go away from it. The run game, in total, finished the night with 27 carries for 108 yards and three touchdowns. Not too shabby for a team known for airing it out.

What’s up with D-Rob?

It wasn’t a good night for Demarcus Robinson to say the least. While Robinson did finish the night with six catches for 44 yards and a key fourth-down conversion to help propel the Chiefs to victory. So, why is he on here then?

Well, because part of why the Chiefs were in their situation was because of mistakes made by Robinson. He was running backward, running the wrong routes, and just being careless with the football, so was it really a surprise that he was often left wide-open? The Raiders knew he couldn’t really be trusted.

Robinson made my list of players to keep an eye on in this game since Sammy Watkins was going to be out once again. What Chiefs fans finally realized — if they hadn’t already — was that barring some insane comeback in the final six regular-season games, Robinson won’t be returning to Kansas City for the 2021 season.
