Kansas City Chiefs: Three biggest challengers in the AFC
The Kansas City Chiefs hosted the Tennessee Titans in the AFC Championship Game last year and despite trailing by 10 at one point, came back to win the game pretty convincingly. The Titans had always been a thorn in the side of the Chiefs, beating them in weird ways and frustrating Chiefs Kingdom to no end.
To finally see the Chiefs be able to not only beat Tennessee, but to do it handily was a beautiful sight. The Titans are putting together something special under Mike Vrabel and while they had an ugly loss to the Bengals a few weeks ago, they’re going to be a sneaky team come playoff time.
Tennessee might not have the flashy name at quarterback, but Ryan Tannehill protects the football and makes plays when he has to. We all know that the Titans’ biggest weapon though is Derrick Henry, who Chiefs fans know all too well how powerful of a runner he can be.
If Henry gets injured at some point during the season, then the Titans become a less scary team. Their defense isn’t what it was a season ago and Tannehill isn’t quite good enough to be the main playmaker.
Hopefully the Chiefs don’t have to deal with Tennessee in the playoffs, but if they do, it’ll be the first time the two teams meet this season and judging by how competitive their past few contests have been, it’d be another fun one.
