vs Carolina Panthers in Week 9 (Nov. 8)

Not many people had high hopes for the Carolina Panthers in 2020. They had moved on from Cam Newton and Greg Olsen and long-time defensive star Luke Kuechly called it a career at the young age of 28. Carolina also had a new head coach in Matt Rhule and it really did look like a rebuild was on the horizon.

Well, instead the Panthers have been one of the league’s sneakiest teams to this point. They currently sit at 3-3 on the year and their biggest win to this point of the season was against the Cardinals in Week 4. They’ve done all of this without Christian McCaffrey, who was injured early on in the season, proving that when he comes back, they’ll be able to do even more damage.

The Chiefs should be 7-2 when the Panthers come to visit in two weeks (with their two wins coming against the Broncos and Jets) and it’s very possible they overlook this game because their Week 10 bye is on the horizon. We all slack a little bit when we know a vacation is coming and the Panthers are not a team they should be slacking against.

There isn’t a bigger trap game on the schedule than Carolina because it’s in Kansas City and the team is as sneaky as any other team in the league. Don’t sleep on the Panthers when they come to town in Week 9, folks.
