Ranking Every Quarterback in 2020 – Number 12: Derek Carr

12. player. 28. . Quarterback. Las Vegas Raiders. Derek Carr

There was a time where it looked like the Oakland Raiders might have found themselves a franchise quarterback, but that time didn’t last long. Derek Carr played incredibly well in the 2016 season and was in the running to win the league MVP that year until who else but the Chiefs ruined his campaign.

Since then, Carr has failed to be that same quarterback and he’s especially struggled to do much of anything against the Chiefs who he plays twice a year every year. Carr is 0-6 at Arrowhead Stadium and 2-10 against the Chiefs overall.

Not only has Carr failed to win a game at Arrowhead, but he’s been downright awful anytime he plays against Kansas City, so it’s fitting that he’s ranked this low here. Carr is out to prove himself this year and has said that he’s tired of feeling disrespected. He’ll get a chance to prove he can beat the Chiefs in weeks five (in KC) and 11 (in Las Vegas).

The Raiders might be in Las Vegas now, but more than likely, it’ll be the same ol’ Carr that we see in 2020. That’s assuming he even holds onto the starting job, as Marcus Mariota is waiting in the wings.
