Number 6: Devonta Freeman, Running Back

Devonta Freeman was once a top notch running back in the NFL, posting back-to-back 1,000 yard rushing yards in 2015 and 2016. During those two seasons, Freeman had 1,040 total receiving yards and 27 total touchdowns.

Simply put, Freeman was a great weapon for Atlanta in those two seasons. Sadly, running backs deteriorate quicker than any other position and in the past two seasons, he’s had just 700 rushing yards and six trips into the end zone. He’s only 28 years old, but that’s old for a running back.

Is he a fit for the KC Chiefs?

A few weeks ago I would have said absolutely not to this question, but with Damien Williams opting out of the 2020 season, Freeman could be a backup option. The Chiefs are looking fine at the running back position even with Williams out, as rookie Clyde Edwards-Helaire is going to be the starter and they have some okay options behind him.

Freeman could be a solid depth piece, but he’s not needed to help this offense win games.

Number 5: Damon Harrison, Defensive Lineman

Damon Harrison, or “Snacks” as many know him as, is 31 years old (turning 32 in November) and has spent eight years in the NFL with three different teams. He had a respectable 2019 campaign, posting 49 tackles and two sacks in Detroit.

The former undrafted big man out of William Penn has a lot left in the tank moving forward.

Is he a fit for the KC Chiefs?

Kansas City already has Derrick Nnadi at nose tackle and he’s been really good there. That being said, Snacks would be a nice backup option or rotational piece along the defensive front. He’s not needed to help make this defense roll, but no one would be mad about adding him.
