Bold Predictions for KC Chiefs – Number 2: Three Chiefs receivers reach 1,000 yards receiving

If Mahomes is going to pass for at least 5,478 yards, then it is definitely possible that he gets three of his guys above the 1,000 yard mark. Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill are 1,000 yard locks if they play even close to 16 games, so really the third guy is the only one that is even in question.

It is definitely not that crazy to believe that one of Sammy Watkins, Mecole Hardman, or Clyde Edwards-Helaire (I know, this one might sound a little bit crazy, but just wait on it) could reach 1,000 receiving yards.

Now, this can be looked at in two different ways and for that reason, I have been back and forth on this prediction.

It can be looked at as having three guys with the potential to have 1,000 yards, so surely one can reach the mark in the Chiefs pass-heavy attack or as there are three really talented guys competing for the third spot in targets and maybe they take targets/yards away from each other making it more difficult for a single one of them to reach 1,000 yards.

I won’t go too much in-depth about each of these players, but there’s no arguing Watkins’ talent. When he is on the field and healthy, he is a problem for opposing defenses. Watching how well he played in the playoffs only further shows how possible it is for him to reach 1,000 yards if he can string together 16 healthy games.

When looking at Hardman, the man was halfway to 1,000 last season on just 45% of the offensive snaps, not to mention that he averages an insane 20.7 yards/reception and this was as a ROOKIE.

With CEH, stay tuned because he’s the focal point of my final bold prediction.

As achievable as this one is, again, it may be the prediction I am least confident in. The potential of all three of these guys competing for targets is very much the reason as to why.

In the end, because this is an extremely bold predictions article and the fact that Mahomes is going to be slinging the ball at an incredible level next season, I decided to stick to the side of believing that three guys on this team will get to 1,000 yards (I just wasn’t confident enough to pick exactly who the third guy will be).
