WHAT DID WE LEARN ABOUT THE CHARGERS?

Well folks, the Los Angeles Chargers are not good and we know that now. Their only two wins this season have come against the Colts (who they only beat due to Indy’s kicking woes) and the Miami Dolphins, who should be relegated to the XFL.

Los Angeles had every opportunity to win against the Titans on Sunday, but as we all know, the Chargers gonna Charger at some point and they did just that in their 23-20 loss in Nashville. For those who didn’t catch the ending (which felt like it lasted over ten minutes), the Chargers looked like they had won the game, but it was ruled that Melvin Gordon didn’t quite break the plane.

After LA tried to punch it in again, Gordon fumbled the football, and Tennessee recovered to ice the game. This was the same Titans team that got shut out by the Broncos yet somehow had no problem moving the ball against the Chargers.

Philip Rivers had a good game, throwing for 329 yards and two touchdowns while only getting sacked once. Rivers had to be good because the run game only totaled 39 yards and Gordon fumbled the football when it mattered most.

Austin Ekeler might not have done much running the ball, but he’s been a monster in the receiving game, leading the team in receiving yards with 118 off of seven receptions and finding the end zone once.

The Chargers defense allowed Ryan Tannehill to throw for over 300 yards in his first start as a Titan while picking him off once and sacking him twice. Derrick Henry had a big game too, rushing for 90 yards and a touchdown.

The Bolts are now shockingly (no pun intended) 2-5 on the year and have now lost more games in seven weeks than they did all of last season. Barring a great collapse by the Chiefs or the Raiders, the Chargers will likely not be returning to the playoffs in 2019.
