WHAT DID WE LEARN ABOUT THE RAIDERS?

The Oakland Raiders had a long time to game plan for their week seven match-up against Green Bay and couldn’t get out of their own way on Sunday in what ended up being a 42-24 blowout loss at Lambeau Field.

The Raiders were about to take the lead in the second quarter when Derek Carr tried to run the ball into the end zone, tried to extend it across the goal line, and ended up fumbling it, which resulted in a touchback for the Packers. That was the turning point, as the Raiders wouldn’t come close to taking the lead again.

Derek Carr had a decent game, throwing for 293 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception, but that fumble completely changed the course of the game. That’s a mistake Carr also made a few years ago when the Raiders played the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football and that same mistake cost his team big in the present day.

Rookie Joshua Jacobs had a tremendous game, running the ball 21 times for 124 yards. Had the Raiders not gotten so far behind, they could have kept handing the ball off to Jacobs because Green Bay had no idea how to stop him.

Tight end Darren Waller had a nice game too, grabbing seven balls for 126 yards and two touchdowns. He’s been a nice story for the Raiders this year and has propelled himself into one of the top tight ends in the league.

Oakland’s defense couldn’t stop Aaron Rodgers, allowing him to score a total of six touchdowns. They had their moments where they looked decent, but things went awry rather quickly in this game for the black and silver.

It doesn’t get any easier for the Raiders next week, as they continue their long road trip with a trip to Houston to face the Texans in the late window of games.
