Start of the Week: Phillip Lindsay and Royce Freeman

45. . Running Back. Denver Broncos. Broncos Running Backs. 1. player

How about a double dip and bold prediction this week? It is always tough to predict which  running back is going to have a big game for teams who don’t have a true bell cow a la Christian McCaffrey. Guys like Jamaal Williams can drive the owners of Aaron Jones crazy. The same can be said about Royce Freeman for Phillip Lindsay owners. This week, however, you can confidently roll out both in your lineup and feel safe.

Lindsay is obviously a must start every week. He is the RB13 on the year, which is great value for a guy who slipped in some drafts past the fifth round. Royce Freeman is a little different though.

Freeman has went over ten fantasy points only three times this year. It is interesting to note that Freeman is actually out-snapping Lindsay on the year. Freeman is on the field for 54% of the teams snaps to Lindsay’s 49%. The Chiefs are also ranked fifth in points allowed to running backs in fantasy, so that is a recipe for success for both of these running backs being viable.

If you’re hesitant to start two running backs in the same offense, (if you have both) don’t be. Last week, Duke Johnson had nearly 14 points against the Chiefs, whereas Carlos Hyde had 19.

Expect Phillip Lindsay to have the Hyde role and go over 20 this week, and for Royce Freeman to hit a few big plays in the passing game and get to near 15 total points.
