The Jaguars Secondary May Keep the Legion of Zoom in Check

Recently, I wrote about several pass rushes that could potentially give Patrick Mahomes and the rest of the Kansas City Chiefs some fits. The Jaguars made that list as the defensive line includes the likes of veterans Calais Campbell and Marcell Dareus as well as three-year pro Yannick Ngakoue and rookie Josh Allen.

But this defense, which paved the way for Jacksonville to make the playoffs in 2017 after a nine-year postseason drought before taking a step back last year, is more than just the line.

Levin wrote that the Jaguars secondary matches up well with the Chiefs wide receivers. “I love the Tyreek HillJalen Ramsey [match-up]. A.J. Boyue is as good a cornerback as there is in the NFL.

What’s more, Levin believes the Jaguars linebackers, led by the recently-extended 24-year-old Myles Jack, will be able to step up and contain the Chiefs’ rushing attack.

With Ramsey on Hill and Boyue presumably on Sammy Watkins, that leaves safeties Jarrod Wilson and Ronnie Harrison to handle Demarcus Robinson, rookie Mecole Hardman and, of course, Travis Kelce.
