Hamp Cheevers of Boston College could be interesting option for Chiefs.

An early entrant into the 2019 NFL Draft, Boston College’s Hamp Cheevers went undrafted before being picked up by the Titans after the draft. An injury during the offseason led to him being put on injured reserve and subsequently released. A young corner with some coverage skills, Cheevers could be an interesting option should the Chiefs go down that road.

Limited in size a bit, measuring at 5-9 and 169 pounds, Cheevers is limited in run support and isn’t overly physical. However, he has displayed good coverage skills in college and could be an interesting developmental option for the Chiefs and perhaps contribute on special teams or work on the practice squad during the season.

Cheevers was in Kansas City for a workout in June, so the Chiefs are aware of who he is. What kind of impression did he leave on the Chiefs while he was in town?

While he didn’t leave tow in June with a contract, now that the Chiefs have an opening, perhaps he can be brought in to compete with Mark Fields, Tramon Smith and Rashad Fenton for a spot on the roster, either active roster or practice squad.
