Summing It Up

In conclusion, Sammy Watkins is a solid player with decent numbers, but his level of play just doesn’t match up to his hype, his expensive contract, as well as how much he misses due to his extensive history with injuries. Overrated.

More from Kansas City Chiefs

Watkins might have even more of a weight on his shoulders if Hill misses time this year or ends up not even being with the team come regular season. He’ll need to stay healthy and really step it up. His contract pays him like a WR1, but he wasn’t that in year one in Kansas City.

Carlos Hyde will be a strong, versatile pass-catching running back who is likely to fit perfectly within Kansas City’s offensive system, but his signing slipped until the radar for most Chiefs fans and didn’t get the excitement it should have. Underrated.

Hyde will have his work cut out for him. With Damien Williams already ahead of him on the depth chart, Hyde will have to make sure rookie Darwin Thompson and second-year threat Darrel Williams don’t outplay him this summer.
