LATE BYE WEEK

The Chiefs had a week 12 bye week in 2018 and that’s the same story this year. They’ll play their first 11 games before getting a week off (though they do have a mini bye after playing the Broncos  in week seven.

Bye weeks are huge in the NFL because it’s an entire week off for teams. They need this team to rest up and get healthy and week 12 will definitely mean the Chiefs are looking toward the playoffs and what all they need to do to get there and secure their spot.

When KC returns from their bye week, they’ll have three of their final five games at home. Three of their final five games will come against teams who made the playoffs last year with the other two being against division rivals Denver and Oakland. The Chiefs see the Chargers during that time as well, so they’ll face every AFC West team after their bye week.

It’s better to have a bye week around the midway point, but the Chiefs will be well-rested when the end of the season gets here and that’s good news for sure.
