Free agency is always an exciting time in the NFL offseason.

Adding a difference maker in-season is hard to do, but becomes a little easier when the season is over. It’s always hard to tell which free agents will hit the open market or which ones will stay within the grip of their current team. Here are some potential options for Kansas City this offseason.

Le’Veon Bell is a polarizing name because of his elite talent and his continued contract drama with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The 6’1″, 225 lbs. running back has a rare combination of power and agility. He’s patient enough in the backfield to be elusive, can run routes and catch like a receiver, and even run over a defender if needed.

The writing seems to be on the wall for Bell’s time in the Steel City. Signing on the dotted line has become the hardest part of Bell’s career while offering him enough money seems to be the hardest part for the Steelers. A change of scenery might be great for the two-time First Team All-Pro.

Incorporating Bell into Kansas City’s already electric offense could turn out to be a two-sided coin. One side would be the ability to take the offense to an even greater level, while the other side might be the drama that can ensue over an elite player not getting enough touches. Andy Ried and company have done a nice job of keeping the current star-studded cast happy so hopefully, that would continue with Bell in the mix.
