FIVE THINGS TO WATCH VS MINNESOTA

NUMBER 5 – CLOSE IT OUT THIS TIME

It was pretty frustrating watching Nebraska hold a decent lead and then not being able to maintain it. That’s been a problem for Nebraska in general over these last few years and if they build up a big lead against Minnesota this weekend, they HAVE to hold onto it.

Hopefully this doesn’t become a trend under Scott Frost, but it’s definitely worrisome when a team is the better team throughout a game, but ends up losing in overtime. That can’t happen anymore.

FIVE THINGS TO WATCH VS MINNESOTA

NUMBER 4 – DISCIPLINE, DISCIPLINE, DISCIPLINE

Penalties continue to derail this team. Somehow, Northwestern made it through the game with just one penalty while the Huskers racked up nine flags. Game after game, Nebraska continues to get the flag thrown in their direction and it’s hard to win games when those penalties pile up.

Penalties have been an issue all season long and a large part of that falls on coaching. Frost has to get these guys disciplined and not allow them to make stupid penalties that could cost them the game. This is something to watch for this week, as Minnesota had just four penalties last week. Can Nebraska limit the penalties this week?
