Husker fans didn’t predict an 0-3 start, but the world hasn’t ended yet and it won’t, even if Nebraska loses this one.

The good news is that Purdue hasn’t been all that great this year either. I covered them a few weeks ago when they played the Missouri Tigers and at that point in time, Purdue had a dominant run game and a weak passing game.

More from Nebraska Cornhuskers

Since then, that has flipped, as David Blough roasted the MU secondary two weeks ago, throwing for over 500 yards. He tossed three touchdowns against the 23rd ranked Boston College Eagles last week. The run game has disappeared, so hopefully they don’t get their groove back against the Cornhuskers.

Nebraska football doesn’t have a ton of winnable games remaining on their schedule, but this Homecoming match-up against Purdue is one of them. Getting a victory on Homecoming weekend would be huge for this program. It’s doable this week, but Nebraska has to play like they did in the first half versus Colorado.

As I mentioned on the previous slide, the Huskers have gotten worse since their electric first half in the season opener. The excitement level watching Adrian Martinez and Nebraska in that half was fun, but we’ve seen little positivity from this team since then.

Will Nebraska football get their first win of the Scott Frost era this weekend? We’ll find out on Saturday.

Go Big Red!
