Jacksonville Jaguars Running Back T.J. Yeldon

As I mentioned in my Week 1 injury reports yesterday, I was the owner in my league of Leonard Fournette who left the game early due to a hamstring injury. It’s yet to be determined whether or not Fournette will be ready to go Week 2. Even if he does play, how productive will he be as hamstring injuries tend to be a nagging one?

T.J. Yeldon came in to replace Fournette in the Jaguars win over the New York Giants. He rushed 14 times for 51 yards and caught three of his seven targets for another 18 yards and a touchdown. Since being drafted, Yeldon hasn’t produced all that much since his rookie season.

Last season, Yeldon did manage 5.2 yards per carry on his minimal 49 attempts. Where he excelled was in the passing game. Fournette is not a running back that will be involved in the passing game all that often which gives Yeldon some playing time. Yeldon had 30 catches during just ten games last season which might make him a solid pick up in case Fournette is not ready to go this coming week.
