You have to coordinate.

For the first time in recent memory and perhaps forever, the Cats break in new coordinators on both sides of the football under Snyder. Dana Dimel is gone to UTEP and Tom Hayes has retired.

Wide receiver coach Andre Coleman was promoted to the offensive side and Blake Seiler was promoted to coach the defense. While both played at Kansas State and both have coaching experience as positional coaches, neither have called plays for Snyder.

Will opponents and fans see a different looking Cats squad this season from seasons past with different (and significantly younger) coordinators? Remains to be seen.

Does Kansas State have a quarterback?

There is an old saying that if you have two quarterbacks you really don’t have one. In most cases, that’s true. However, because of what Kansas State asks their quarterbacks to do (run the ball, often) if they don’t have two quarterbacks, they are in trouble.

Delton has had issues staying healthy (including reportedly suffering multiple concussions during the 2017 season) and Thompson threw three interceptions to only five touchdowns and struggled after receiver Dalton Schoen went down with injury.

I’d expect Delton to get the ‘start’ due that he’s a better runner. But both will get plenty of snaps.
