At No. 6, one of the greatest improved players ever under Self

No. 6 Jeff Withey

When Jeff Withey became a junior, he became a different animal on the court. The seven-footer became an inside presence that nobody could have seen coming. After minimal playing time his freshman and sophomore seasons, Withey started to break records.

During his senior year in the 2012-13 season, he finished a game against San Jose State with 12 blocks. That is the most blocks ever at KU or in the Big 12. He finished his senior season at Kansas with 141 blocks and finished his career with 311 blocks. Both are Kansas and Big 12 records.

Not only does Jeff show up on this list, but he would also show up on a list of biggest turnarounds at Kansas. He also finished No. 2 all-time in tournament blocks, one shy of Tim Duncan. He also recorded just the second triple-double in Kansas History.

Withey finished his career with 938 points, 628 rebounds, and those 311 blocks. Quite the accomplishment for a guy that saw almost zero playing time his first two seasons as a Jayhawk.

If you are looking for an against-all-odds type of guy, Jeff Withey is him. He went on to get drafted 39th overall by the Portland TrailBlazers and currently plays for the Dallas Mavericks.
