Top 15 Rookies to Target in Fantasy Football: Number 4 – Joe Mixon

The Bengals already have two capable starting running backs on their team in Gio Bernard and Jeremy Hill, but Joe Mixon is still someone to consider adding to your team in fantasy football. Mixon’s ability to make plays both as a running back and as a catch passing back is what will impress his fantasy owners.

Just last season with the Sooners, Mixon rushed for 1,274 yards and ten touchdowns and added 538 yards through the air with five receiving touchdowns. He can make plays, there’s no doubt about that.

The skepticism with drafting Mixon, however, is that Bernard and Hill are ahead of him on the depth chart. That could change in an instant, but it’s definitely something to consider if you’re having your draft before the end of preseason.

Mixon is still worth drafting in the middle rounds because of his ability to catch the football. The Bengals are going to utilize him in some way, even if it’s not as a starting running back. He should be a nice back to have in fantasy football this season, but might not be quite that RB1 your team is hoping he’ll turn into right away.
