Top 15 Rookies to Target in Fantasy Football: Number 6 – Jamaal Williams

The Green Bay Packers might have found their new running back of the future when they selected Jamaal Williams in the NFL Draft. This has been an area that the Packers have struggled in (see Eddie Lacy and  Ty Montgomery), but Williams could potentially provide stability for the Pack.

Williams could probably grab hold of that job and hold onto it for the rest of the season.

While Montgomery could still end up being the starter, Williams could probably grab hold of that job and hold onto it for the rest of the season. He rushed for 1,000 yards during his senior season at BYU and did so previously in 2013 as well. The kid can run and the Packers need to open up their run game more if they want to make it back to the Super Bowl.

We all know that Green Bay can throw the ball, but with Williams on their team, they should become more of a running threat too. Montgomery might be taking the handoffs for the first few weeks, but Williams has the burst that NFL coaches dream of. The Packers won’t put that kind of talent to waste.

While a lot of other rookie running backs aren’t worth drafting before the late, late, late rounds, Williams is someone you could probably scoop up in the tenth-ish round. Montgomery will be the Packers running back that everyone drafts, but you could have the last laugh if you wait and draft Jamaal Williams.
