This is a trade that will not happen for the Royals simply because it’d take a lot to make it work. Dan Straily is having a great season for the Miami Marlins and has a lot of controllable years left on his contract. That makes him an appealing trade candidate for a lot of contending teams.

I’d have to agree with the tweet above. Straily, who’s only 28 years old, is having a monster season and he’ll instantly make a rotation better. He’d have one of the best ERAs in the Royals rotation should they somehow obtain him.

The Marlins need to get rid of some contracts and that’s why Straily is going to be a hot name in the coming weeks. I just don’t see the Royals being apart of that sweepstakes though, which is a bummer because he’d turn this team into World Series contenders for sure.
