MIKE MOUSTAKAS

It’s hard to discuss the hottest hitters for the Kansas City Royals and not bring up Mike Moustakas. Moose is crushing the baseball so far, mashing .348 in six games (though he didn’t start in one of those games, but who cares?).

He’s appeared to come back from the injury well and has been arguably the Royals’ hottest hitter so far into six games.

Moose has hit three home runs so far and looks to be back to his 2015 form. That season saw the former first round pick hitting the ball like he never had before, and as a result, Moose made it to his first All-Star Game.

Fans were hoping to see Moustakas tear it up for the Royals in 2016, but an ACL injury prevented that from happening. He’s appeared to come back from the injury well and has been arguably the Royals’ hottest hitter so far into six games.

With the Royals returning home and the roar of the home crowd, Mike Moustakas should be wheeling and dealing even more so than he did on the road. He’s on pace to hit a career high in home runs and doing that might make letting him go this offseason become an even tougher task.

Hell, if Moustakas continues to smash the baseball the way he has been, he might be the easy option to try and retain after the season is over with.
