That was for you, Gordo! (2015 Vs Rays)

In arguably the best game of Dyson’s career, he had to step up for an injured Alex Gordon, who had been hurt earlier in the game. Before stepping up to bat in the sixth inning, Dyson had thrown out Brandon Guyer at home plate with an incredible dart from the outfield. It was a tremendous throw.

Later on, despite the Royals winning 7-3 at the time, the team and the fans still needed a confidence boost after their hometown hero had gone down. Dyson continued his heroics in the sixth inning.

Dyson hit the ball to left field where David DeJesus (of all people) couldn’t make the play. The ball rolled back to the corner and Dyson took off around the base path. Alcides Escobar had already scored to make it a five-run game, but Mike Jirschele sent Dyson for the inside-the-park home run.

The moment takes place at around the 1:20 mark on the video linked below.

The fans at Kauffman Stadium went ballistic and it was almost as if Dyson’s home run had made everyone realize that the Royals would be okay without Gordon. Dyson helped make that possible. Also, he’s really freakin’ fast, but we already knew that.
