Andy Reid: Coach Of The Year

Over the past few weeks, Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has emerged as a popular name for Coach Of The Year. Reid has done a lot to transform a failing franchise into a perennial playoff team. With an impressive string of victories over the past several games, many pundits and analysts are starting to take notice.

By guiding the Kansas City Chiefs to yet another double digit win season, and potentially a playoff berth, Andy Reid has earned the right to be in this conversation. The deeper he takes the team into the postseason, the more recognition he is going to get. However, as it stands, many pundits are giving him plenty of credit for doing so much with a team with so many injuries.

Andy Reid’s chances of winning this award will depend on the results of the team. Winning a Super Bowl isn’t necessary to win Coach Of The Year, but there is a degree of winning required. Reid’s chances improve the deeper he takes the Chiefs into the playoffs. As it stands, many see him as the front runner.

Will He Win It?: Unless the Chiefs completely fall apart at the end of this year, I do see Andy Reid claiming this award. With all the Chiefs have had to overcome this year, he has earned it.
