Justin March

The Kansas City Chiefs defense has been much maligned this season. The Chiefs are currently without two starting defensive linemen and three inside linebackers, including Derrick Johnson. However, the Chiefs are in a position to get one of those linebackers back in Justin March. That decision may be finalized this week when we see how either Frank Zombo or DJ Alexander handles filling in.

A major key here could also be Ramik Wilson. The second year linebacker has gotten quite a bit of experience in his short time in Kansas City. He could be the man that the Chiefs rely on to fill the role of Derrick Johnson. That would put less pressure on either Zombo or Alexander in adapting to a starting role on the defense.

For the Chiefs part, they have openly stated that bringing back Justin March is a real option. There is certainly consideration for the position as the Chiefs brought in a number of free agents to try out. Clearly though, the team has decided that their first option is to find out whether or not the answer is already on their roster.

The Chiefs run defense has already struggled this year, and that is a major consideration here. I’ve stated for a while now that KC’s future at inside linebacker is going to be Ramik Wilson and Justin March. This could be their chance to prove it.
