How Do You Stop Julio Jones?

The biggest question facing the Kansas City Chiefs this week is how to stop Julio Jones. When asked about it by reporters, Andy Reid stated: “You hope he misses the bus.” That’s not particularly motivating, however it may very well be the case. That is especially true for a young Chiefs secondary that has been struggling this year.

“You hope he misses the bus.” ~ Andy Reid on stopping Julio Jones

Chiefs second year man Marcus Peters has been locking down his side of the field this year. Unfortunately, the same is not true of the corners on the other side of the field. In a combination of injuries and general struggles, the Chiefs secondary has given up a lot of yards and scores to opposing wide receivers.

The Chiefs are getting Steven Nelson back this week, which will help. However, Nelson does not appear to be a good match up when Julio Jones is sent to his side. Also, the Chiefs can’t be sure what they will be getting from Phillip Gaines who has struggled recently. It’s a tough assignment, and unfortunately it seems very unlikely that Jones will miss the bus.
