Can Chiefs Clean Up Mistakes On Offense?

Fans have not gotten the offense we expected from the Kansas City Chiefs this year.  That’s not to say the team hasn’t changed its approach, we just haven’t gotten the results.  Much of that has to do with what boils down to mental mistakes.  It seems like a week doesn’t go by where a big play is foiled because of a silly mistake by a member of this offense.  That needs to change.

The Colts defense is not good.  In fact, this may be one of the single worst defensive units in the history of the NFL.  Yes, I am putting them below the Saints.  That means the Chiefs should be able to run their offense effectively.  I hate to put it this way, but Alex Smith and company should almost view the Colts as a practice squad opponent.

If the Chiefs can clean up the mistakes, don’t be surprised to see an offensive explosion.  Already there are a number of predictions that have the Chiefs putting up 30 or more points this week.  To be honest, they should.  However, Kansas City has a history of getting in their own way.  This is a perfect opportunity to iron out some wrinkles before playing some much tougher teams down the stretch.
